About This Race

The Oregon Cascades 100, set for July 25, 2026, offers an extraordinary ultrarunning adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of Central Oregon. This point-to-point challenge traverses a scenic route from Bend to the charming mountain town of Sisters, with options for both a demanding 100-mile and a formidable 50-mile race. Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions to be warm and dry, with highs around 90F and lows around 50F, and only a 1% chance of precipitation, making for ideal trail conditions under the clear Oregon sky.

The 100-mile course is an instant classic, featuring roughly 10,900 feet of elevation gain and 11,400 feet of loss, with much of the climbing concentrated in the first 100 kilometers. It boasts approximately 78% single-track trails, including smooth, flowing sections in the shadow of Mount Bachelor before transitioning to more rugged terrain on the descent towards Sisters Country. The 50-mile option, starting at Swampy Lakes Sno-Park, presents a quicker challenge with about 4,000 feet of gain and 6,500 feet of loss, primarily on single-track trails. Both distances promise stunning views and a runnable course, often described as an excellent introduction to the 100-mile distance for its less technical nature and "moon dust" soft pumice stone trails.

Runners will be well-supported throughout their journey, with 12 full aid stations for the 100-miler and 5 for the 50-miler, offering standard ultrarunning fare, hot food during the night, and a cupless policy to promote sustainability. The Oregon Cascades 100 is also a Western States 100 Endurance Run qualifier, adding to its prestige. The finish line awaits at the Sisters Middle School track, providing a welcoming and celebrated end to an unforgettable trek through Oregon's premier running territory.
