Lace up your shoes for the 20th Annual Pearland Pear Run on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in scenic Pearland, TX. This beloved community tradition offers a fast, flat, and fun experience for runners of all levels with USATF-certified 10K and 5K courses. Starting and finishing within Independence Park, participants will enjoy an out-and-back route along portions of Pearland Parkway and Dixie Farm Road, providing pleasant city views. For those seeking an extra challenge, 2026 marks the inaugural Pear Ruck 10K, inviting participants to tackle the course with a weighted pack.
Runners can expect excellent support throughout the race, with aid stations strategically placed approximately every 1.5 miles, offering water and electrolytes to keep you fueled. Restrooms are also conveniently located on the course, just past the water stations. Typical race day conditions in early May feature pleasant highs around 82°F and lows around 65°F, with a low chance of precipitation, creating ideal running weather.
Beyond the personal challenge, the Pear Run boasts a vibrant atmosphere at Independence Park, complete with a Kids Fun Run, exciting live demonstrations from the Pearland Police Department, and photo opportunities with Peary, the beloved mascot. Every stride supports a great cause, as proceeds benefit the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association and the Pearland Police Department, contributing to essential non-budget items for over 20 years. Finishers of the Pear Run will receive a commemorative medal, while Pear Ruck participants earn a unique challenge patch.
