Embark on a captivating cycling adventure at Pedal the Gap, a brand new event launching on August 15, 2026, from the historic town of Cumberland Gap, TN. This inaugural race offers multiple distances, including a challenging 50-mile option designed for those seeking an unforgettable climb. Participants in the 50M route will journey through the mile-long Cumberland Gap tunnel into Kentucky, where they'll face the iconic 3.1-mile, 6.6% "classic mountain" ascent to the revered Pinnacle overlook. Conquer double-digit grade switchbacks to be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views spanning Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.

After descending the Pinnacle and returning through the tunnel to Tennessee, the 50M course continues with scenic, rolling to flat loops. For riders preferring a less strenuous experience, distances of 20, 35, and 65 miles are available, all staying within Tennessee's beautiful rolling to flat terrain without major climbs. All routes, excluding the 20-mile option, will feature three well-supported rest stops, and SAG support will be provided for all distances. Typical race day conditions in mid-August include highs around 84°F and lows around 62°F, with a modest 15% chance of precipitation.

Pedal the Gap promises more than just a race; it's an opportunity to be part of a burgeoning cycling tradition, experiencing the unique historical and natural beauty of the Cumberland Gap region. The event culminates with a post-ride meal, including a complimentary beer, at Angelo's in the Gap, making for a perfect celebration of your achievement.
