Prepare to set sail for an adventure on land at the Pirate 5K, 10K, & 13.1, docking in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Saturday, April 4, 2026! This spirited event, part of the US Road Running Race Series, invites runners of all levels to embrace their inner buccaneer while exploring the scenic beauty of Boomer Lake Park. The race kicks off at 8:00 AM CDT from Shelter #3, located conveniently next to the Boomer Park Splash Pad on the west side of the lake.
Participants will navigate an out-and-back course around the picturesque lake, offering a sustained and engaging challenge for each distance. The 5K runners will complete one loop, 10K participants will tackle two loops, and half marathoners will conquer four loops of the course. Typical race day conditions in early April feature comfortable highs around 71°F and lows around 45°F, with only a 13% chance of precipitation, creating ideal weather for personal bests or a leisurely jog. This race stands out with its vibrant pirate theme, encouraging participants to don their finest pirate attire for a chance to win the best costume award.
All finishers will be rewarded with a unique themed medal to commemorate their accomplishment, alongside some "Pirate Booty" to enhance the festive atmosphere. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the race and concludes 10 minutes prior to the start, with all registrations required online as there is no on-site registration. A generous time limit of 2 hours for the 5K and 10K, and 3 hours and 30 minutes for the half marathon, ensures that all participants can comfortably complete their chosen quest.
