Pirate 5K, 10K, and 13.1M

Prepare to hoist the Jolly Roger and set sail for a thrilling running adventure at the Pirate 5K, 10K, and 13.1M in Rocky Mount, NC, on Saturday, April 4, 2026. This exciting event invites runners to embrace their inner buccaneer, with participants highly encouraged to don their best pirate costumes for a chance to win an award. The race kicks off promptly at 8:30 AM from the scenic Stith-Talbert Park. Be sure to arrive early, as packet pickup begins at 8:00 AM and concludes at 8:20 AM, with no on-site registration available.

The courses are designed as picturesque out-and-back routes, allowing runners to soak in the beautiful surroundings of Edgecombe County. The 5K route involves two loops of a 0.78-mile segment, while the 10K challenges participants with four loops of the same course. For those tackling the Half Marathon, the journey encompasses six loops of a 2.18-mile out-and-back section. Runners can anticipate ideal race day conditions, with typical highs around 68°F and lows around 43°F, alongside a low 13% chance of precipitation. A generous 3-hour and 30-minute time limit ensures that runners of all paces can complete their chosen distance and enjoy the camaraderie of this unique event.
