Plymouth Runway Mile and 5K

Get ready to take flight at the Plymouth Runway Mile and 5K, set for Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Plymouth, Indiana. This unique event offers runners the rare opportunity to race directly on the active runway and taxiway of Plymouth Municipal Airport, which is closed to aircraft operations for the duration of the event. Choose your distance with a chip-timed 1 Mile race or a 5K, or take on the ultimate "Runway Challenge" by registering for both events for a custom finisher medal. The courses are designed for fast times, starting on the south side of the main airport building and leading participants onto the newly constructed taxiway before a thrilling stretch down the actual runway.

Beyond the exhilarating flat course, the Plymouth Runway Mile and 5K promises an engaging atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. Expect to see numerous aircraft, including airplanes and helicopters, on display, with the added option of helicopter rides available for a fee. This family-friendly event also features food trucks and aviation fun, making it more than just a race. All proceeds from the event support AlphaFlight, a local flight school, providing vital scholarship opportunities for aspiring pilots.
