Presidents' 5K Run

Lace up your running shoes and embrace a unique historical journey at the Presidents' 5K Run, set for Saturday, February 14, 2026, in picturesque Fremont, OH. This third annual event, organized by the Fremont Elite Runners Club, offers participants a scenic out-and-back 5K (3.1 mile) course through the historic grounds of Spiegel Grove, home to the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums. Runners will start at the museum entrance, winding through the beautiful estate on an accurate course that was formerly the popular Jingle Bell Run. Typical race day conditions in mid-February can feature highs around 35F and lows near 18F, with a 12% chance of precipitation, creating a crisp winter running experience.

What makes the Presidents' 5K truly stand out is its engaging atmosphere and unique theme. Participants are encouraged to don their favorite patriotic or presidential garb, with awards for overall male and female finishers, as well as for the best costume. After crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy refreshments served in the museum auditorium. The first 100 registered runners will also receive a special participation gift, and race participants can take advantage of discounted tickets for museum and house tours.
