Get ready to experience Pueblo's premier running event, the Pueblo Spring Runoff, taking place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in scenic Pueblo, CO. Offering 10M, 10K, and 5K distances, this race, now in its 48th year, stands as Pueblo's oldest and largest running tradition, drawing participants to celebrate fitness and community. All races begin and conclude at Dutch Clark Stadium, providing a central hub for runners and spectators.
Runners will enjoy a unique journey along the beautiful Arkansas River Trail, with courses designed as large loops that incorporate both sides of the river. Expect a mostly flat and fast experience, especially for the 5K, with all routes being traffic-free for optimal runner safety. Half of each course ascends the historic Arkansas River Levee, offering captivating views of the "Grove" neighborhood, active railyards, and the Arkansas River's kayak rapids. The 10-mile course extends further, circling Lake Runyon and winding through an old-growth forest of Cottonwood Trees before returning along the levee. Water stops are available on the course, including at the 5K turnaround point.
The Pueblo Spring Runoff is more than just a race; it's a cherished community event organized by the Southern Colorado Runners Club, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Care & Share Food Bank of Pueblo. Competitive runners can vie for monetary awards for overall winners and age group medals, while younger participants can join the free "Funner To Be A Runner" event. Pueblo, known as the "banana belt" of Colorado, typically offers pleasant spring weather with historical highs around 67F and lows near 38F, and only a 7% chance of precipitation; however, April weather can be unpredictable, so runners should prepare for varying conditions.
