Puppy Love 5K

Lace up your running shoes and leash up your furry best friend for the 3rd Annual Puppy Love 5K, set to unleash a wave of excitement on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in scenic Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This heartwarming 5K run/walk welcomes all well-socialized pups and their human companions to Palmetto Island Park, offering a unique opportunity to experience a delightful course together. Runners and walkers can anticipate a charming route through the park, featuring fun sights like a "tennis ball field, stick crossing and squirrel overlook!". Typical race day conditions in early February often present comfortable highs around 60F and lows near 45F, with a minimal 12% chance of precipitation, creating ideal weather for both two and four-legged participants.

What truly sets the Puppy Love 5K apart is its unwavering dedication to our canine companions. This 100% dog-friendly event encourages owners to run or walk alongside their leashed pups, fostering a joyful and supportive atmosphere. Beyond the finish line, the celebration continues with an exciting owner/dog 100-yard dash, post-race hot chocolate, and tasty treats for both humans and their furry valentines. Awards are presented for a variety of categories, including the top three male and female finishers with dogs, along with fun titles such as "Best Sweetheart Squad" and "Best Butt Wiggle".

Participants will receive a race t-shirt and a matching bandana for their puppy love, with free park entry and parking included with registration. More than just a race, the Puppy Love 5K is a chance to make unforgettable memories with your pup while supporting local animal rescues, the Lucy Beckham Meowdog Rescue and the Charleston Animal Society. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Blue Sky Endurance or on race morning at Palmetto Island Park.
