Racer 5K

Lace up for the Racer 5K on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, and experience a vibrant community run through the heart of Murray, Kentucky. This beloved annual event invites runners and walkers of all ages to enjoy a scenic 3.1-mile journey while directly supporting the Murray State Cross Country and Track & Field programs. Since its inception in 2013, the Racer 5K has become a cherished tradition, offering a fun-filled morning that unites the community in a shared passion for fitness and collegiate athletics.

The course promises an enjoyable run through the picturesque Murray State University campus. Participants will start their journey in front of the Susan E. Bauernfeind Wellness Center on Racer Drive and culminate their effort with an exciting finish inside the historic Roy Stewart Stadium. Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 86°F and lows around 65°F, with a low chance of precipitation, making for a potentially warm but engaging run.
