The REF RUN on Friday, June 5, 2026, invites runners and walkers of all ages to experience a vibrant community event in beautiful Duvall, Washington. Starting and finishing at McCormick Park, this family-friendly 5K race offers a scenic out-and-back course along the renowned Snoqualmie Valley Trail. Runners can anticipate a relatively flat terrain as they journey 1.55 miles south along the trail before turning back. While strollers are welcome, participants are asked to be mindful of other runners on the narrow trail, and please note that dogs are not permitted on the course. Typical race day conditions in early June boast pleasant highs around 66°F and lows near 48°F, with only a 14% chance of precipitation, creating ideal weather for an evening run.
What truly sets the REF RUN apart is its festive atmosphere and profound impact on local education. Kicking off at 5:30 PM, the event precedes the 6:30 PM race start with lively activities including a dunk tank, enticing food trucks, and ongoing music. Every participant receives a medal, a commemorative t-shirt, and a special pint glass, perfect for a refreshing root beer float at the finish line. More than just a race, the REF RUN is a cornerstone event in conjunction with the Duvall Days Festival, serving as a critical fundraiser for the Riverview Education Foundation (REF). One hundred percent of the proceeds directly benefit the Riverview School District by funding educational grants, supporting students and educators since 1991.
The REF RUN is a cherished opportunity to enjoy a beautiful course, connect with the community, and contribute to a meaningful cause. Packet pickup is conveniently available on race day at the entrance to McCormick Park from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Join fellow enthusiasts for an unforgettable evening of fitness, fun, and community spirit, all while championing local education.
