Kick off your New Year with a unique and rewarding challenge at the Resolution Run, set for January 2, 2027, in scenic Simpsonville, SC. This timed endurance event invites runners, walkers, and rollers to embrace a fresh start with options for a 3-hour, 6-hour, or the ultimate 12-hour experience. Participants can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 54°F and lows near 36°F, alongside an 18% chance of precipitation, making for invigorating winter running weather.
The Resolution Run unfolds on a scenic 2-mile loop course located around the vibrant Bridgeway Station. This generally accessible, gently rolling terrain offers a lively atmosphere, allowing participants to enjoy views of local vendors, a brewery, and coffee shops as they complete their laps. A standout feature of this event is its community-driven aid station, where runners are encouraged to bring leftover holiday dishes to share, fostering a festive spirit. The aid station is well-stocked with a variety of provisions including pickles, cookies, chips, assorted candy, fig newtons, pretzels, water, Coke, and ginger ale. Remember to bring your own vessel, as this is a cup-less event. Runners also have the convenience of setting up personal drop bags or pop-up tents near the aid station for easy access during their timed effort.
What truly sets the Resolution Run apart is its engaging "lap tradition": participants bring their favorite mug and collect a rock for each completed lap, creating a tangible symbol of their progress and determination throughout the day. This inclusive event, organized by Upstate Race Series, supports the Upstate Running Club Youth Team and champions the spirit of setting and achieving New Year's resolutions. All races kick off at 9:00 AM at Bridgeway Station, with packet pickup available starting at 8:00 AM at the Pavilion in front of Bridgeway Brewing Co..
