About This Race

The Riverlands 100, set for May 2, 2026, in Turner, Maine, offers a compelling and challenging 100-mile experience amidst the rugged beauty of Androscoggin Riverlands State Park. This year marks "The Last One" for this beloved event, making it a truly unmissable opportunity to be part of its storied history. Known for its old-school charm and community-oriented atmosphere, the Riverlands 100 is designed by experienced trail runners for those eager to push their limits.

Solo runners will conquer four laps of a demanding 25-mile out-and-back trail, traversing over half ATV trail and the rest "sweet single track" that showcases the best Maine has to offer. The course is deceptively difficult, with constant rolling terrain, roots, rocks, and mud that demand unwavering attention, often described as "Northeast technical". While there aren't epic climbs, the cumulative elevation gain of approximately 12,000 to 14,000 feet adds to the challenge, ensuring no flat stretches for relaxation. Runners will be treated to picturesque river views of the Androscoggin and dense forest scenery, with the possibility of hearing loons. Three well-stocked aid stations, staffed by experienced ultrarunners and strategically placed about every five miles along the loop, provide crucial support, including drop bag access for solo runners and crew access at the Start/Finish in the main park parking lot.

What truly sets the Riverlands 100 apart is its intimate, "home town" race feel where volunteers make an effort to know each runner, fostering a supportive environment. Finishers within the 32-hour cutoff are celebrated with the unique "Last Mule in the Barn" award. Typical race day conditions in early May feature comfortable highs around 61°F and lows around 40°F, with a 17% chance of precipitation, offering a refreshing backdrop to this unforgettable journey. For many, this race has been described as simultaneously difficult, inspiring, and life-changing.
