Lace up for an unforgettable experience at the Run A Muk 5k/10k, returning to the picturesque waterfront city of Mukilteo, Washington, on Saturday, August 22, 2026. This beloved community event offers both a chip-timed 5K and 10K (or 3.1M) option, inviting runners and walkers of all paces to enjoy a course celebrated for its breathtaking vistas and friendly atmosphere. Runners can anticipate pleasant race day conditions, with typical August highs around 73°F and lows near 56°F, and only a 4% chance of precipitation.
The course, which received rave reviews in previous years, promises an engaging journey along the Salish Sea. Starting and finishing on 3rd Street below the Rosehill Community Center, participants will embark on a route that winds towards Totem Park, offering stunning views of the iconic Mukilteo Lighthouse. After a brief pass through Old Town on 2nd Street, the path transitions to a mostly gravel shoulder along Mukilteo Boulevard before descending a short, steep-ish hill towards the water. The next 1.5 miles are described as flat and fast as you head towards Edgewater Beach, where you'll pass captivating art on the train station and ferry terminal. The terrain is a varied mix of sidewalks, paved paths, and some gravel along the water's edge, culminating in a final uphill push to the finish line. 10K participants will enjoy a second lap of this scenic route, with both distances offering majestic mountain and water views, and opportunities to spot resident bald eagles and hear the distant barks of sea lions.
The Run A Muk is renowned for its fun, friendly atmosphere and incredible small-town support, making it a perfect event for families and walkers alike. While single strollers are welcome, double-width strollers and pets are not permitted due to course restrictions. Runners will receive a "snazzy" finisher's medal and enjoy post-race snacks to celebrate their accomplishment. Restrooms are conveniently located inside the Rosehill Community Center and at Edgewater Beach along the route.
