Lace up your running shoes for the "Run For A Vet," an inspiring race set to take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in scenic Branson, Missouri. This event offers participants the choice of a challenging Half Marathon (13.1M) or a refreshing 5K (3.1M), all while making a meaningful difference in the lives of American heroes. Hosted by the Branson Veterans of America 913 (BVA913), the race is dedicated to raising crucial funds for veterans in need, supporting everything from medical and living expenses to specialized equipment and educational scholarships.
The course itself is a highlight, starting and finishing at the Dewey Short Visitors Center. Runners will experience a fast, out-and-back asphalt trail along the picturesque Lakeshore Trail, boasting scenic views of Table Rock Lake at every turn. While generally well-maintained, the route features rolling inclines and hills, with one particular section near a boat ramp presenting an 8-9% sideways incline that provides a unique challenge. Half Marathoners will complete three loops of 4.36 miles each, while 5K participants enjoy a single 3.1-mile loop. Aid stations, often proudly manned by veterans, offer support throughout the course.
Typical race day conditions in early June for Branson can see highs around 87F and lows near 61F, with a 15% chance of precipitation, so runners should prepare accordingly for potentially warm and humid weather. All finishers receive a commemorative medal, and trophies are awarded to overall male and female winners, overall masters (40+) male and female, and top age group performers. Join fellow runners and the Branson community in this special event that combines a beautiful course with an impactful mission, honoring those who have served our nation.
