Embark on an unforgettable trail running adventure at the Run Through Time Marathon in Salida, Colorado, on March 14, 2026. This challenging and scenic race offers distances of 26.2M, 13.1M, and a 2M fun run, inviting runners of all levels to experience the stunning Arkansas Hills Trail System. Known as an early-season Colorado trail kickoff, the event is celebrated for its demanding course and breathtaking views of Salida, the Arkansas Valley, and the majestic Sawatch Range.

The courses, a rugged blend of single-track trails, jeep roads, and dirt roads, challenge runners with significant elevation changes. Marathoners will tackle approximately 3,800 to 4,000 feet of climbing, with elevations ranging from 7,000 to 9,000 feet. The half marathon presents its own formidable test with around 2,000 feet of ascent. While the initial miles offer a relatively gentle start on packed dirt roads, runners should be prepared for steep climbs, rocky sections, and potentially icy or muddy conditions, depending on the variable early spring weather. Typical race day conditions in mid-March bring highs around 51°F and lows around 21°F, with a low chance of precipitation.

Runners will find ample support with four aid stations along the marathon course and two for the half marathon, some accessed multiple times. The race culminates with a festive finish in Salida's charming Riverside Park, where participants receive custom race socks and a light hot meal. Beyond the personal challenge, the Run Through Time Marathon contributes to local causes, having donated over $66,000 to Salida Mountain Trails and Chaffee County Search and Rescue-South over the past 16 years. This "no-frills, easy-going" race promises a rewarding experience amidst incredible mountain scenery.
