About This Race

Lace up your trail shoes for the Run Wild on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky! This exceptional event offers a challenging yet rewarding 5-mile timed run through the picturesque Turkey Run Park, nestled within the expansive Parklands of Floyd Fork. The course features five miles of single-track, wooded trails with an elevation gain of approximately 600 feet, making it suitable for both novice and experienced runners. Expect a natural terrain with some roots and rocks, primarily in the initial mile, and be prepared for a potential shift to paved paths if the trails are too muddy on race day. The start and finish lines are conveniently located by the Brown Forman Silo, setting the stage for a memorable experience.

Run Wild is more than just a race; it's an opportunity to support the vital work of the Second Chances Wildlife Center, a non-profit dedicated to environmental education and the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned animals. Runners will receive a custom series medal and the unique chance to meet some of the Second Chances Animal Ambassadors. Adding to the fun, keep an eye out for hidden raccoons along the course, which can be turned in for door prizes. A water stop will be available at the midway point, and in keeping with the race's environmental commitment, it is a cup-free event, so bring your reusable water bottle. Typical race day conditions in late June can see highs around 88°F and lows near 69°F, with a 20% chance of precipitation.
