Get ready to "Run with the Roosters" at the scenic Sabino Canyon in Tucson, AZ, on Saturday, June 13, 2026. This popular 4-miler, organized by Everyone Runs, is a beloved Tucson summertime tradition, offering both a run and walk through the stunning natural beauty of Sabino Canyon. To beat the typical race day conditions, which often see highs around 103F and lows around 72F with minimal chance of precipitation, the race kicks off bright and early at 5:05 AM, with the course closing at 7:00 AM.
The road course, featuring some hills, guides runners north on the main road before turning onto Bear Canyon Road (also known as Lower Sabino Canyon Road), leading to a turnaround near the trailhead of Seven Falls. While the atmosphere is described as a "chill" and quiet race with no music, the experience is rich with unique offerings. Participants will find a water stop near mile one, available in both directions, and 16-ounce water bottles at the Seven Falls turnaround, though carrying your own hydration is encouraged due to the summer heat.
Run with the Roosters is renowned for providing excellent value, including a famous free Mexican breakfast, free race photos, and complimentary shaved ice to cool down post-race. Runners will also receive custom male and female race shirts in tech or cotton. Awards include overall and 5-year age group rooster trophies, with the top male and female finishers earning free running shoes from Fleet Feet. It's also an ideal way to celebrate Father's Day, with special dad/kid team divisions and trophies available. Remember that a Coronado National Forest parking pass is required for Sabino Canyon.
