Get ready for a "Time Warp" on the trails at the SARR Rocky Horror Trail Run, celebrating its 5th annual edition on October 24, 2026, in San Antonio, TX. This Halloween-themed event invites ghouls, goblins, and all levels of runners to Eisenhower Park for a thrilling trail adventure across 5K, 10K, 27K, and 53K distances. Typical race day conditions in late October offer pleasant weather, with highs around 82°F and lows near 59°F, and only a 7% chance of precipitation.
The "Time Warp" course is a challenging 3.3-mile loop within Eisenhower Park, featuring approximately 400 feet of elevation gain per loop over natural rocky, elevated trails with plenty of roots. While predominantly technical singletrack on the Hillview, Shady Creek, Red Oak, and Live Oak trail systems, each loop also incorporates nearly three-quarters of a mile of paved trail. Participants choose their challenge by completing one loop for the 5K, two for the 10K, five for the 27K, or a maddening ten loops for the 53K ultra.
This cupless race requires runners to carry their own hydration devices, with water and electrolytes available at a dedicated aid station at mile 2 and at the start/finish area. For those tackling the 27K and 53K distances, an additional bag drop and a fully stocked aid station near the finish line provide an array of sweet and salty treats, gels, and even warm quesadillas to fuel your journey. Beyond the physical challenge, the SARR Rocky Horror Trail Run is renowned for its festive atmosphere, encouraging runners to embrace the spooky spirit with a costume contest. Limited to just 350 participants, this event promises not just a race, but a spooktacular experience where you're guaranteed to have the "best" time, even if it's not your fastest.
