Lace up and join the empowering community at the 47th Annual SARR Women's Run, set to take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in scenic San Antonio, Texas. This cherished event, organized by the San Antonio RoadRunners, continues a tradition that began as the Women's Distance Festival, a movement advocating for women's inclusion in Olympic distance running events. It remains a vibrant celebration of the sisterhood of women and girls through fitness and fun, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities.
Runners can choose from a 10K, a 5K, or a 5K Walk, with a special 500M Girl Power Run for the youngest participants (ages 1-10). The chip-timed course winds through the roads of Alamo Heights, offering a pleasant road racing experience. The 10K distance involves completing the 5K route twice. Starting and finishing at Nacogdoches Road and West Oakview Place, the event's pre and post-race festivities, including packet pickup, are conveniently located at the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. Aid stations providing water and Gatorade will be strategically placed at three locations along the course, plus one at the start/finish line, supported by an enthusiastic squad of male volunteers.
As typical race day conditions in mid-July San Antonio can see highs around 98°F and lows around 76°F, with a low 6% chance of precipitation, early morning start times are designed for optimal running. All finishers will proudly receive a commemorative medal, and those who register early are guaranteed a fabulous race shirt. For those unable to attend in person, virtual 5K and 10K options are also available, allowing everyone to be a part of this inspiring event.
