SAU Farm Road Challenge

Lace up for a meaningful stride at the SAU Farm Road Challenge, set to take place on March 6-7, 2026, in the charming town of Magnolia, Arkansas. This vibrant event, starting and finishing at the Southern Arkansas University Alumni Center, offers a diverse range of distances including a 10K, 5K, a spirited 4-Mile Glow for the Gold Relay, a 0.5-mile Kids Run, and a Kids' 1-mile race, ensuring an option for every runner and walker. Runners can anticipate a course spanning the SAU Campus and Farm Road, presenting a generally easy and accessible terrain with minimal elevation gain, ideal for setting personal bests or enjoying a scenic outing. Typical race day conditions in early March often bring mild weather, with highs around 65°F and lows near 41°F, alongside a low 15% chance of precipitation.

What truly sets the SAU Farm Road Challenge apart is its heartwarming mission: supporting The Overcoming Adversity Scholarship for SAU student-athletes with disabilities, a cause inspired by co-founder and former SAU athlete Carley Rains. The festivities kick off on Friday evening with the Kids' 1-mile race and the unique "Glow for the Gold" 4-Mile Relay, where teams of four showcase their camaraderie and spirit for special awards. Saturday morning features the 5K and 10K runs, with all finishers receiving a commemorative medal and a race shirt, and top performers earning age group awards.
