Embark on an unforgettable Alaskan adventure at the Skeetawk Scramble 37K, taking place on August 30, 2026, in the stunning Hatcher Pass Recreation Area near Palmer, Alaska. This challenging 37-kilometer (approximately 23-mile) Skyrunning course, recognized as one of four official US Skyrunning races, promises breathtaking scenery and a formidable test of endurance amidst the Talkeetna mountains.

The Skeetawk Skyline Scramble features an impressive 11,500 feet of elevation gain, guiding runners through a rigorous and visually rewarding journey. The route begins and ends at the Skeetawk Ski Area, ascending Frostbite Ridge to Government Peak, traversing a ridge to Hatcher Pass, and passing Hatch Peak. Runners will experience varied terrain as they descend the April Bowl trail and Summit Lake road, navigate to the Fishhook/Marmot parking lot, climb Marmot Peak, and traverse another ridge to Gold Cord Lake. The course then descends the Gold Cord Trail to Hatcher Pass Lodge before a final climb back to Summit Lake and Hatch Peak, returning along the ridge to Halibut Tail Point for the exhilarating descent back to Skeetawk. Typical race day conditions in late August offer pleasant highs around 60F and lows around 45F, with a low 9% chance of precipitation, providing an ideal environment for tackling this epic mountain challenge.

The Skeetawk Ski Area, a community-driven non-profit, serves as the central hub for the race, offering public restrooms and yurt services for participants. Prepare for an exhilarating experience that combines the raw beauty of Alaska's backcountry with the demanding nature of a true Skyrunning event.
