Lace up your trail shoes for the Spring Run for Fun - Bridle Trails, an exhilarating trail race set for March 28, 2026, in the verdant Bridle Trails State Park in Kirkland, WA. Offering a range of distances including a full Marathon (26.2M), Half Marathon (13.1M), a challenging 10M (actually 6.55 miles per loop), and a swift 5M loop, there's a distance for every runner to embrace the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Typical race day conditions in late March boast comfortable highs around 56°F and lows around 40°F, with only a 16% chance of precipitation, providing an ideal climate for a spirited run.
The course itself winds through a magnificent upland forest, boasting a quintessential mossy Pacific Northwest backdrop of Douglas fir trees and lush ferns. Bridle Trails State Park, at just 500 feet above sea level, is renowned for its generally snow-free, accessible trails year-round, making it a unique forested oasis close to urban centers. Runners will find mostly medium-width to wide, smooth trails with a low to moderate climb and a gently rolling elevation profile, allowing for a potentially faster trail running experience. While most sections are smooth, be prepared for a few steeper slopes and narrower stretches with some rocks and roots to keep you engaged. The longer distances feature a well-designed loop system: the Half Marathon consists of two identical 6.55-mile loops, and the Marathon covers four laps of this same scenic route.
Runners will be well-supported throughout their journey. Marathoners can expect seven aid station stops, Half Marathoners three, and 10M participants one, strategically placed along the course. These stations are stocked with water, Skratch Labs electrolyte drink, and a variety of carbohydrate-rich and salty snacks such as cookies, energy bar pieces, gels, chips, bagels, and fruit. All finishers will also enjoy refreshments at the start/finish area. Bridle Trails is a shared-use park, so runners should be courteous to fellow trail users, particularly equestrians, by yielding the trail as a common courtesy. Carpooling is highly recommended due to limited parking at the park.
