Get ready to shake off the winter chill and embrace the blooming season at the Spring Sprung 5K-10K and Half Marathon, set to take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in scenic Ballwin, MO. Organized by Rockinator Racing, this event promises an exhilarating day amidst the natural beauty of Queeny Park, offering distances to suit every runner: a 5K, a 10K, or the challenging Half Marathon. For those seeking an extra test, a 10K Ruck option is also available, allowing participants to carry a 20lb or 30lb rucksack.
The course itself is a highlight, leading runners along "shady, rolling, fast, gravel trails" through Queeny Park. The 5K consists of one lap, the 10K covers two laps, and Half Marathoners will complete four circuits of the well-marked, shared route, ensuring a consistent and engaging experience for all. Aid stations are strategically placed approximately every three miles, or each lap at 3.25 miles, and are stocked with sport drinks to keep you fueled. Typical race day conditions in early May feature comfortable highs around 73°F and lows near 49°F, with only about a 19% chance of precipitation, creating ideal running weather.
Beyond the beautiful course, the Spring Sprung race is known for its vibrant atmosphere and rewarding experience. Every finisher earns a "BIG CUSTOM FINISHERS MEDAL", and custom medal badges are awarded to the top three in all age groups, as well as podium awards for the top three overall male and female finishers in each event. Your registration includes a Rockinator Racing Backpack, a soft-spun T-shirt commemorating the event, race snacks, colas, and professional chip timing. Plus, cherish your achievement with complimentary action photos and a finish line video available for download. With music rocking at the racers' village at the Smith Pavilion in Queeny Park, this event is designed to be a memorable way to kick off your spring racing season. Participants can also contribute to a good cause, as 100% of optional donations support the Rockwoods School District Cross Country program. Be sure to register early, as there is no race day registration for this popular event.
