Stanford Draft Legal Treeathlon 2026

Gear up for the Stanford Draft Legal Treeathlon 2026, an exhilarating sprint triathlon taking place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in scenic San Mateo, California. This prestigious event, organized by Stanford's Triathlon Team, is renowned as one of Northern California's premier collegiate triathlons. Designed for advanced collegiate and elite athletes, the draft-legal format means competitors can work together in packs on the bike course, demanding strong bike handling skills and tactical racing prowess.

The race unfolds at the picturesque Seal Point Park, offering stunning views of the Bay, the Santa Cruz Mountains, and the San Francisco Skyline, making it a highly spectator-friendly course. Athletes will dive into a 750m open-water swim in the Bay, a segment where wetsuits are mandatory due to typically cold water temperatures. Following the swim, the 20km bike course features four flat and fast laps on J. Hart Clinton Drive, with a short downhill section and a brief climb back into transition. Finally, the 5k run challenges participants on a flat, fast course along the scenic Bay Trail, culminating in a short uphill finish chute across from the transition zone.
