Strawberry Chase 5k, 10k, 1 Mile

Get ready for a "sweet" race experience at the annual Strawberry Chase 5k, 10k, and 1 Mile event, returning to Dayton, Tennessee, on May 9, 2026! This beloved community race offers a flat and fast course that winds through historic Downtown Dayton, promising an excellent opportunity for personal bests or a delightful scenic run. The 10K distance features a double-loop route, while the 1 Mile fun run takes participants through the charming Sutton Woods. Both strollers and dogs are welcome to join the fun, starting at the back of the pack.

The Strawberry Chase is professionally timed by Terra Running Company and proudly begins and ends at the Rhea County Community Center (Rc3) located at 232 4th Ave.. Beyond the thrill of the race, your participation supports a fantastic cause, as the event raises funds to provide fitness equipment for Rc3, a non-profit organization dedicated to building a healthy community. Expect typical race day conditions with highs around 77°F and lows around 54°F, and only an 18% chance of precipitation, making for pleasant running weather.

All 5K and 10K finishers will be awarded medals, with ribbons for the 1-mile participants. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, age group winners, and Masters (50+) and Grand Masters (60+) categories. Unique to the Strawberry Chase, overall and Masters/Grand Masters winners also receive strawberries and a three-month membership to Rc3. Post-race, all runners can refuel with delicious strawberries, bagels, and water.
