Lace up for the 15th Annual Stride For Sight, an inspiring event taking place on February 28, 2026, in scenic Scottsdale, Arizona. This unique race, offering both a timed 5K and a relaxed 1-mile walk, serves as a vital fundraiser for the Foundation for Blind Children, supporting comprehensive programs for individuals with visual impairments of all ages. Participants will gather at the Arizona Boardwalk, the central hub for the start and finish, promising a pleasant and accessible course.
What truly sets the Stride For Sight apart is its distinctive "Blindfold Challenge." Teams of two can opt to navigate the 5K course blindfolded with a sighted guide, with blindfolds and tethers provided and the opportunity to switch roles halfway through. This inclusive approach welcomes runners and walkers of all abilities, including those with wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons. Typical race day conditions in late February offer ideal running weather, with historical highs around 77°F and lows around 43°F, and a mere 4% chance of precipitation, ensuring a comfortable experience for all.
Beyond the personal challenge and the impactful cause, participants will be rewarded with a custom finisher's medal and a Dri-Fit Tech T-shirt. Age group awards are presented for the top three in the 5K distance, and a pre- and post-race "Athlete's Brunch" featuring granola bars, fruit, and water ensures you're fueled and refreshed. Come join over 500 anticipated participants for a memorable event that makes a tangible difference in the community.
