Strut for Childhood Cancer Run

Lace up for a meaningful morning at the Strut for Childhood Cancer Run, returning to Wilmington, NC, on March 7, 2026. This inspiring event offers participants the choice of a timed 5K or a relaxed 1-mile run/walk, both taking place on the easy, stroller and wheelchair-friendly loop course within scenic Long Leaf Park. The race starts and finishes conveniently near Picnic Shelter #5/6, with ample parking available on-site.

Now in its 17th year, the Strut for Childhood Cancer Race has a rich history of community support, previously known as The Cardinal Strut. All proceeds directly benefit the Children's Cancer Partners of the Carolinas, supporting Cape Fear children and families navigating the immense challenges of childhood cancer, especially since there is no local cancer treatment in Cape Fear. Beyond the rewarding journey through the park, runners can look forward to a unique and exciting Flamingo Foam Party at the finish line, adding a celebratory and fun atmosphere to this uplifting day.
