Get ready to lace up for an unforgettable evening at the Suds & Soles 5K, returning to Rockville, MD, on Saturday, June 13, 2026. This beloved annual event, presented in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club and the City of Rockville, offers a unique twilight race experience that's become a true Rockville tradition and one of the few evening road races in the Washington metropolitan area. The USATF-certified 5K course kicks off promptly at 7:30 PM from N Washington Street at the intersection of Middle Lane, winding through the vibrant heart of downtown Rockville and charming neighborhood roads before finishing back in Rockville Town Center. Runners can expect a road course with some hills, offering scenic views and the energetic atmosphere of the community. A water stop will be available approximately halfway through the race, with volunteers at the finish line ready to greet you with water and your first post-race beer.
The Suds & Soles 5K is renowned for its fantastic post-race celebration. After crossing the finish line, adult participants (21+) can enjoy a commemorative mug and sample a variety of beverages from local breweries using three tasting tickets included on their bib. The festive atmosphere continues with live music, additional refreshments, and activities for children, making it a perfect family-friendly outing. For the younger runners, a spirited 0.5-mile Kids' Fun Run starts shortly after the main event. Typical race day conditions in mid-June feature highs around 83°F and lows around 63°F, with a modest 16% chance of precipitation, providing a comfortable evening for running. Beyond the fun, your participation supports a great cause, benefiting the Rockville Recreation and Parks Foundation and the Youth and Beginning Running Programs of MCRRC. As part of the America 250 celebration in 2026, this year's event will also feature enhanced patriotic giveaways and décor.
