Lace up for the Summer's Done 13.1, a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself and embrace the late summer running season in Cary, NC, on August 22, 2026. Hosted at the scenic Fred G. Bond Metro Park, this event offers a welcoming atmosphere for participants of all abilities, whether you prefer to run, walk, roll, or stroll through the picturesque course. Choose your distance from a variety of options, including the 3.275M (1/8 Marathon), 6.55M (1/4 Marathon), 9.825M (3/8 Marathon), or the flagship 13.1M (Half Marathon).
The course itself winds through Bond Park, featuring a mix of dirt, grass, paved, and natural trails, complete with moderate to significant hills that will test your endurance and provide engaging scenery. While not USATF certified, the routes are accurately marked, with staggered starts kicking off at 7:00 AM to ensure a smooth race flow before the course closes at 10:00 AM. Aid stations equipped with water will be available on the course and at the finish line, where an athletic trainer will also be on standby. Typical race day conditions in late August see highs around 89°F and lows around 69°F, with a 16% chance of precipitation, so preparing for warm weather is advisable.
The Summer's Done 13.1 is more than just a single race; it's part of the Fit & Able Half & Half Summer Series, allowing runners to combine their finish times with the Sizzling Soles Half-marathon for a full 26.2M marathon equivalent and additional awards. For the truly ambitious, it also contributes to the Ultra Series 65.5, which rewards those who complete five Fit & Able 13.1-mile races. Finishers of the 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 Marathon distances will receive a medal and gift, with opportunities to set new course records and earn a $10 gift code.
