Sunshine Festival July 4th 5k & 1 mile

Lace up your running shoes and celebrate Independence Day at the 42nd Annual Sunshine Festival July 4th 5k & 1 Mile, taking place on Thursday, July 4, 2026, in scenic Saint Simons Island, GA. This historic family event invites runners and walkers of all ages to experience the charm of coastal Georgia with a USATF-certified 5K route or a festive 1-mile fun run. Both races wind through the beautiful, iconic live oak and Spanish moss-lined streets of St. Simons Island, offering picturesque scenery from start to finish at Kings Park, near Mallery Park. Typical race day conditions in early July include highs around 91°F and lows around 76°F, with a 14% chance of precipitation.

The Sunshine Festival races are known for their lively atmosphere and community focus.
