Unleash your inner hero at the inaugural Super Hero 5K, set to take over Cartersville, GA, on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Originally slated for an earlier date, this exciting 5K was rescheduled to ensure optimal race conditions, allowing participants to fully embrace the challenge. The course will guide runners through the picturesque, rolling pathways of Sam Smith Park and surrounding surface streets, offering an engaging route with an approximate elevation gain of 221 feet. The start and finish lines are conveniently located at the City of Cartersville Parks & Recreation Department's Senior Aquatic Center within Sam Smith Park.

This unique event invites participants of all ages and abilities to don their favorite superhero attire, transforming the race into a vibrant display of community spirit. Beyond the fun of dressing up, the Super Hero 5K carries a powerful mission: to support Helping Hands for Bartow Kids (HHBK), an organization dedicated to empowering local children through vital educational programs, healthcare initiatives, and social services. Runners are encouraged to extend their heroism by bringing non-perishable food and hygiene products for the Allatoona Resource Center and Red Door Food Pantry.

Typical race day conditions in late February in Cartersville offer crisp weather, with highs around 60°F and lows near 38°F, accompanied by a 20% chance of precipitation – perfect for a heroic dash. Following your triumph, an awards ceremony at 10:00 a.m. adjacent to the Senior Aquatic Center will celebrate the top three overall male and female finishers, overall masters male and female, and the top three in various age categories. Packet pickup is available the day before the race and on race day itself.
