Sweetgrass Half Marathon & 10K

Lace up your running shoes for the Sweetgrass Half Marathon & 10K, set to take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the charming coastal town of Mount Pleasant, SC. This eagerly anticipated event, hosted by the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, offers both a challenging half marathon (13.1 miles) and a new 10K distance for 2026, making it accessible to a wider range of runners.

The course is renowned for being flat and fast, providing an excellent opportunity for personal bests. Runners will embark from the Park West Recreational Complex, winding through the picturesque Carolina Park and Darrell Creek neighborhoods. Expect scenic marsh and pond views, particularly along Darrell Creek, adding a beautiful Lowcountry backdrop to your race experience. Typical race day conditions in late February offer ideal running weather, with highs around 63°F and lows around 49°F, and only an 11% chance of precipitation.

Beyond the race itself, the Sweetgrass Half Marathon & 10K promises a vibrant community atmosphere. Unique to this event is the post-race "Running of the Weenies," a hilarious dachshund race that provides entertainment for all ages.
