Lace up for a heartwarming journey at the 8th annual Teddy Bear Trot, set to take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in picturesque Wyomissing, PA. This unique 4-mile social group run offers the perfect blend of fitness and philanthropy, inviting runners and walkers to contribute to the community in a truly special way. The event kicks off and concludes at Eight-Twenty at the Mills, with additional collections for non-perishable food and blankets at Sly Fox. Participants are asked to bring a brand new teddy bear to donate, which you'll personally carry on a portion of the route to the Opportunity House in Reading, even stopping to greet some of the children at their Early Learning Center before completing your 4-mile loop.
The Teddy Bear Trot is designed for all paces, featuring guided departure groups for 8-10 minute milers, 10-12 minute milers, and those at a 13+ minute mile pace, ensuring a comfortable and communal experience for everyone. While not a timed race, the atmosphere is brimming with camaraderie and cheer. After delivering your teddy bears and completing the scenic loop, runners can look forward to a deluxe hot cocoa station to warm up, a teddy bear tag-making station, and a photo area to commemorate your contribution. Plus, take advantage of the opportunity to wear-test Karhu shoes, a fitting partner as "Karhu" means "bear" in Finnish. The first 120 participants will also receive a free custom ear warmer headband.
Prepare for typical race day conditions in early February, with historical highs around 40F and lows around 23F, and only about a 12% chance of precipitation, making for invigorating running weather. Beyond the run, your participation directly benefits Opportunity House, making the Teddy Bear Trot a memorable event that warms both your body and your spirit.
