The Tejas Dirt Festival, held at Camp Eagle in Rocksprings, TX, invites runners to experience the rugged beauty of the Texas Hill Country on May 9, 2026. Formerly known as the J&J Race, this event has evolved into a pinnacle of off-road racing, deeply rooted in the history of Tejas Trails, Texas' original and oldest trail running company. Participants can challenge themselves across a range of distances, including the 50K, 25K, and 5K, alongside other trail runs from 40 miles down to a Youth 1 Mile, as well as ruck races, mountain biking, and a biathlon, all part of a vibrant multi-day festival.

The course promises amazing technical trails with "lots of hills" and stunning vistas, winding through the 1400-acre Camp Eagle property, including sections near a spring-fed river. Tejas Trails is renowned for its meticulously well-marked courses, featuring orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and confidence markers, ensuring runners can focus on the challenge and scenery without needing to navigate. Aid stations are fully stocked and strategically placed approximately every 3-6 miles on the trail, offering fluids, ice, sodas, Tailwind, Saltstick, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. As a cupless event, runners are encouraged to bring their own hydration vessels to help protect the beautiful trails. Typical race day conditions in early May feature comfortable highs around 82°F and lows around 56°F, with only a 14% chance of precipitation.
