Tempe May the Fourth Be With You 5K

Prepare for a galactic adventure at the Tempe May the Fourth Be With You 5K, returning for its 3rd annual celebration on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Tempe, Arizona! This popular 5K run/walk invites participants of all ages and abilities to embrace their inner Jedi or Sith as they race through Kiwanis Park, located at 101 W Baseline Road. The course is a road type, promising a smooth and enjoyable journey for runners, walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, and even leashed pets (starting at the back).

This unique event, organized by StartLine Racing, is a festive tribute to Star Wars Day, encouraging participants to don their best costumes and compete in a pre-race contest. Typical race day conditions in early May feature highs around 91°F and lows around 56°F, with a minimal 1% chance of precipitation, making for potentially warm but clear running weather. Participants will receive a custom event finisher's medal and a custom Dri-Fit shirt, with age group awards presented to the top three in each category.

Race day packet pickup and registration kick off at 6:30 AM, with the costume contest beginning at 7:10 AM, and the 5K officially starting at 7:30 AM. Post-race, all "inhabitants of this desert planet" can refuel with a "Runner's Snack" including granola bars, fruit, water, and Gatorade.
