Lace up your boots for the 3rd Annual Texas Independence Day 5K, set to take place on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Grand Prairie, Texas. This festive 5K event celebrates Texas pride at its new location, The Epic, a sprawling campus featuring miles of scenic trails and a beautiful lake, providing a picturesque backdrop for your run, ruck, or walk. The course is described as fast and flat, making it an inviting challenge for all skill levels, and both strollers and leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun. Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 64°F and lows near 42°F, alongside a low 12% chance of precipitation, creating ideal weather for an enjoyable experience.
Beyond the race itself, the Texas Independence Day 5K is a vibrant community celebration. Participants are encouraged to don their favorite Texas gear or red, white, and blue attire, with a special award of new cowboy boots for the "Best Dressed" winner. The event, hosted by the One Tribe Foundation, supports those who serve our country and communities, adding a meaningful purpose to every stride. After crossing the finish line, celebrate your accomplishment with music and refreshments, then explore the Vendor Village featuring companies and organizations from across Texas. Awards will be given for the fastest overall male, female, and kid (12 & under), with the fastest child also winning a night at Medieval Times-Dallas. Packet pickup opens at 7:30 AM on race day at 2960 Epic Place, Grand Prairie, followed by a ceremony at 8:30 AM and the race start at 9:00 AM.
