The 2026 Alert Road Race

This exhilarating event, starting and finishing at the Alert Covenant Church at 15820 Green Randolph Road, offers distances for every runner: a challenging 10K (6.2M), a spirited 5K (3.1M), and a fun 1 Mile race. Typical race day conditions in late June bring highs around 89°F and lows near 65°F, with a 15% chance of precipitation, so be prepared for classic Kansas weather.

Runners in the 10K can expect a course with "plenty of scenic hills" that combines paved roads with gravel and rock backroads, offering picturesque views and even a chance to spot a herd of longhorn cattle. The 5K course provides a "mostly flat" experience across both paved and gravel segments, while the 1 Mile race is an out-and-back journey on an all-paved road with some gentle inclines. Water stations will be conveniently located on all three courses to keep you hydrated.
