The Azalea Run 2026, set for Saturday, April 11th, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, invites runners to experience a truly picturesque event within the renowned Honor Heights Park. This beloved race, a highlight of the annual Azalea Festival, offers both a 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, making it perfect for all ages and fitness levels. Dating back to the mid-1980s, the race has a rich history and is proudly hosted by the Muskogee Running Club, the City of Muskogee, and Saint Francis Health Systems.

Runners will enjoy a refreshing experience on the scenic Garden of Lights Run Course, which remains entirely within the 132-acre Honor Heights Park. The course promises beautiful views of the park's vibrant flowers and meticulously maintained gardens, offering a unique springtime perspective on a route typically associated with winter illuminations. With an approximate elevation of 607 feet above sea level, the terrain within the park generally features gentle undulations rather than steep climbs. Participants can expect typical race day conditions in mid-April, with highs around 72°F and lows around 48°F, and only a 15% chance of precipitation.

Registration for The Azalea Run includes an exclusive Azalea Run t-shirt and post-run refreshments to celebrate your accomplishment. For those with a competitive spirit, medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group. The race starts and finishes at the North Shelter by the Splash Pad within Honor Heights Park, with the 5K and 1 Mile events both kicking off at 8:00 AM on race day. Packet pickup is also conveniently available the day before the race, Friday, April 10th, from 3 PM to 6 PM, at the same location.
