About This Race

Prepare for an exhilarating challenge and breathtaking vistas at The Hoodoo Challenge: Run To The Top, set for Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the stunning Sisters, Oregon. This event, organized by the Sisters Kiwanis Club with proceeds benefiting charity, offers both a demanding Half Marathon and a scenic 5K, designed to test your limits and reward you with unparalleled views. Typical race day conditions in late July feature highs around 90F and lows near 50F, with a minimal chance of precipitation, promising a warm and generally dry race experience.

The Half Marathon course is renowned for its significant uphill climb, traversing scenic forested trails and ascending to the top of Potato Hill, featuring approximately 1920 feet of elevation gain and even crossing the Pacific Crest Trail. Runners will be treated to amazing views of Island Lake, Link Lake, and Sand Camp Lake, along with magnificent mountain panoramas, making every challenging step worthwhile. The 5K also offers its own inspiring journey, starting at the Hoodoo parking lot and culminating at the summit of Hoodoo, providing a fantastic option for those seeking a shorter yet equally rewarding "run to the top" experience with scenic views.

Both races begin at the Hoodoo parking lot, and after conquering the uphill finishes, half marathon participants descend back to the Hoodoo Lodge parking area, where all runners are invited to a hosted lunch and awards ceremony. Every participant receives a 2-for-1 lift ticket voucher for Hoodoo, and the top male and female finishers in both distances are awarded a Hoodoo season pass, adding extra incentive to push for the summit. This long-standing event, celebrating its 10th year for the half marathon in 2026, promises a memorable race day with a challenging course, spectacular scenery, and a vibrant post-race atmosphere.
