About This Race

Embark on an unparalleled challenge with The MT. TAMMANY 10, a formidable 40-mile ultra-marathon set to test your limits on March 21, 2026, in Columbia, NJ. Known as "the latest and greatest 'ULTRA' test for ultrarunners in the region," this event is truly not for the faint of heart, promising some of the toughest and slowest miles you'll ever encounter. The course navigates 10 arduous loops over Mount Tammany, accumulating an staggering 12,000 feet of elevation gain and an equal descent.

The MT. TAMMANY 10 features an intensely rocky and rugged terrain, with the 1,200-foot ascent of Mount Tammany via the Red Dot trail boasting an average gradient of nearly 20%. Runners will scramble over a relentless "sea of rocks"—little, big, jagged, and pointy—with virtually no smooth sections to offer reprieve. Despite the demanding footing, the course rewards your perseverance with breathtaking panoramic views of the Delaware Water Gap from the 1,526-foot summit, along with majestic waterfalls and the soothing sounds of Dunnfield Creek during the descent.

Starting and finishing at the Kittatinny Parking Lot Pavilion within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, this loop-style race ensures you're never far from support. The start/finish area doubles as a fully stocked aid station, and runners are encouraged to utilize their vehicles for drop bags, with crews welcome at this central hub. On race day, expect typical conditions to include highs around 51F and lows around 30F, with a 14% chance of precipitation, adding another layer of challenge to this already epic "10, 10, in 10!" (10 climbs, over 10,000-12,000 ft of gain, in approximately 10 hours) event. Prepare for a deeply satisfying ultra experience that will push both your physical and mental limits.
