The Ruff

Prepare to challenge yourself with The Ruff, a relentless 7-mile mountain run set to unfold on November 22, 2026, in Carson, WA. This unique event, hosted by Elevated Trail Racing, is the only race that tackles Dog Mountain in the stunning Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Runners will embark on a challenging course run entirely on single-track trails, gaining over 3,000 feet of elevation in the first three miles as they ascend to the summit via the Dog Mountain Trail. From the peak, breathtaking panoramic views of the Columbia River, Mount Hood, and Mount St. Helens await before a quad-testing four-mile descent down the Augspurger Trail to the finish. Runners often describe the experience as akin to being in the high mountains of Colorado, but with the added benefit of the Pacific Northwest's thicker air.

Starting and finishing at the Dog Mountain Trailhead, The Ruff promises an exhilarating challenge for trail enthusiasts.
