The Tuckahoe 25k, set for November 21, 2026, in scenic Queen Anne, MD, offers a captivating 25-kilometer trail experience perfect for both seasoned trail veterans seeking a fast race and newcomers looking to dip their toes into the world of off-road running. This popular event, now in its 8th annual iteration, is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and well-maintained trails within Tuckahoe State Park. Typical race day conditions in late November feature crisp highs around 56F and lows near 39F, with only a 15% chance of precipitation, providing ideal running weather.
The course guides runners through a modified large loop and a shorter out-and-back section, primarily utilizing single-track and wider horse trails. While not overly technical or rocky, runners should be prepared for some runnable hills, rooty sections, and potentially muddy areas, adding an adventurous twist to the journey. The picturesque scenery includes mature forests, a 30-year-old Loblolly Pine plantation, and sections near the Adkins Arboretum, providing beautiful views throughout the 15.5-mile challenge. To keep runners fueled, three well-stocked aid stations offer water, electrolyte drinks, gels, and a variety of sweet and salty real food options, all supported by experienced volunteers.
Organized by Algonquin Ultras Inc. in partnership with the Centreville Crushers Running Club, The Tuckahoe 25k is celebrated for its commitment to promoting and preserving trails on the Delmarva Peninsula. Beyond the challenge of the trails, participants can look forward to a festive atmosphere, often featuring post-race churros and generous swag, including a unique triangle-shaped finisher award. This eco-friendly, volunteer-supported event promises a memorable and exhilarating conclusion to your fall racing calendar.
