Three Creeks Half Marathon

Lace up for the Three Creeks Half Marathon, Denver's signature springtime challenge, set for Sunday, April 5, 2026. This popular 13.1-mile race unfolds within the expansive and picturesque Cherry Creek State Park, offering runners a unique blend of urban park scenery and natural beauty. The USA Track & Field certified course is celebrated for its largely flat profile, boasting a total elevation gain of just 291 feet across the entire distance, making it an excellent opportunity for a personal best. While advertised as flat and fast, be prepared for a mix of paved roads, winding paved running paths, and wide dirt trails, including some stretches through wetland preserves, with a few modest inclines and potentially exposed sections to sun and wind in the later miles.

As you navigate the course, you'll trace the scenic banks of Cherry Creek, Windmill Creek, and Cottonwood Creek, with distant views of the majestic Rocky Mountains providing a stunning backdrop. Eight aid stations are strategically placed approximately every two miles, well-stocked with water and Hammer Heed, plus Hammer Gel available at miles 6.5 and 10 to keep you fueled. For convenience, toilets are available at the Hobie Hill parking lot start/finish area and at multiple points along the course. Typical race day conditions in early April feature comfortable highs around 62°F and lows near 33°F, with only a 5% chance of precipitation, though it's wise to prepare for sunny and potentially breezy conditions.

Beyond the individual half marathon, the event also features a 2-person Half Marathon Relay, allowing teams to conquer the course together with an exchange zone at the 6.5-mile mark. All participants receive a gender-specific race shirt, free race photo downloads, and a finisher medal, with post-race quesadillas awaiting you at the finish line to celebrate your achievement.
