Tiblow Trot 5 Mile/5K/2K

Lace up for the 48th annual Tiblow Trot on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Bonner Springs, KS, a celebrated event coinciding with Tiblow Days, the city's largest annual community festival. This cherished race offers distances for every ambition: a challenging 5-mile run, a spirited 5K run/walk, and a scenic 2K (1.24 mile) fun walk. Known as one of Kansas's oldest races, the Tiblow Trot promises a vibrant atmosphere with a friendly crowd and a seamless start in downtown Bonner Springs at 3rd and Oak Street.

The 5-mile course is particularly renowned for its demanding nature, winding through city streets, including stretches down Morse and up Nettleton, that have led its creator to describe it as "as tough as any 10K" you'll encounter. Runners can expect a "pretty rough" and hilly urban landscape, offering a true test of endurance and grit. Typical race day conditions in late August feature highs around 84°F and lows near 63°F, with a 15% chance of precipitation, making for a warm but often manageable morning start.

Beyond the personal challenge, participating in the Tiblow Trot supports a noble cause. All funds raised are dedicated to Bonner Springs High School scholarships and the Rotary's Polio Plus Program, contributing to worldwide polio eradication efforts and other Rotary initiatives. Finishers will be rewarded with a medal, and top performers in the 5-mile and 5K categories will receive awards. All participants are also entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to the Running Well Store, adding an extra incentive to this historic and community-focused race.
