Timberneck 5K Run/Walk

Lace up your running shoes for the scenic Timberneck 5K Run/Walk, set for Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the beautiful Machicomoco State Park in Gloucester, Virginia. This engaging event offers both a 5K race and a 1-Mile Fun Run, making it perfect for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. The course itself is a flat, paved 3.1-mile loop, promising a smooth and enjoyable experience with sweeping views of the picturesque York River. Runners can expect typical race day conditions with highs around 86°F and lows near 67°F, with an approximately 18% chance of precipitation.

What truly sets the Timberneck 5K apart is its unique setting and impactful mission. Participants will traverse the newly established Machicomoco State Park, running through Virginia's rich history. Proceeds from the race directly benefit the Fairfield Foundation, aiding in the vital preservation and restoration of the historic c.1793 Timberneck House, which overlooks the York River. Water will be available at both the start/finish line and at the halfway point of the course, with public restrooms conveniently located near the finish. Packet pickup will be available at the race site from 7:00-8:00 AM on race day, and a $5 per vehicle park admission fee is required for all attendees. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top five walkers and top finishers in various age groups.
