About This Race

Get ready to experience the breathtaking desert landscape at the TMC Tucson 10K and 5K on September 13, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. This popular event, a highlight of the Southern Arizona running calendar, offers runners a unique blend of scenic beauty and a "challenging but speedy" course. With typical race day conditions seeing highs around 96F and lows around 72F and only a 6% chance of precipitation, you can anticipate a warm but likely dry start to your run.

The 10K course, a certified distance and a segment of the Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown, cruises along the iconic rolling hills at the base of the Tucson Mountains, near the picturesque Starr Pass and Gates Pass. Runners will be treated to a gorgeous cactus-lined route featuring the stunning beauty of the Painted Hills and panoramic views of the Tucson Basin, often bathed in a spectacular sunrise. The 5K offers an equally scenic out-and-back route. Both races begin and end at Pima Community College, West Campus, where a shaded courtyard hosts vibrant pre- and post-race festivities, including music, food trucks, and a vendor expo. Water stations are available on both courses, with the 10K providing stops at approximately 2.25 and 4.7 miles.

Organized by Tucson's premier event team, Run Tucson, in partnership with the Southern Arizona Roadrunners, this race is renowned for its well-managed atmosphere and dedication to the running community. All participants receive a souvenir shirt and a collector's medallion, with age group awards and prize money for 10K finishers. The course is also "chair friendly," ensuring space and support for athletes using racing chairs. Your participation also contributes to local causes, benefiting the Southern Arizona Roadrunners and the BEYOND-Tucson Foundation.
