Lace up your trail shoes for the much-anticipated Tortoise and the Hare Trail Races, returning to Salisbury, MD, on Saturday, April 4, 2026. This popular event offers a refreshing challenge with distances for every pace: a 10K, a 5K, and a vibrant 1-Mile Color Run. Runners will navigate the scenic Salisbury Trail System, enjoying natural surfaces and the beauty of the local landscape. Typical race day conditions in early April feature comfortable highs around 63°F and lows near 40°F, with only a 13% chance of precipitation, providing ideal weather for a fantastic run.

What truly sets this race apart is its festive atmosphere, especially being held on Easter Weekend. Beyond the timed 5K and 10K, the untimed 1-Mile Color Run adds a unique splash of fun, where participants are joyfully doused in different colored powders every quarter-mile. This event also carries a significant purpose, as 100% of its net proceeds benefit the Salisbury Parks and Recreation, contributing to local community development.

Race day kicks off at Lions Park under the pavilion, with festivities beginning at 8:45 AM.
