Lace up your shoes for the Towpath Trail 10K and Half Marathon, taking place on July 19, 2026, in the scenic surroundings of Grand Rapids, OH. This popular event, part of the Toledo Roadrunners Club Trail Race Series, offers a beautiful and largely flat course, making it an excellent introduction to trail running or a great opportunity for a summer personal best. Both the 13.1-mile and 10K distances commence and conclude at Providence Metropark near the historic dam, guiding runners along the well-maintained canal towpath.

Runners will journey along paths of crushed gravel and dirt, enjoying abundant shade and stable footing. The out-and-back course provides picturesque views of the mighty Maumee River, historic canal locks, and the charm of a bygone era, including a historic grain mill. Aid stations, stocked with water and Gatorade, are strategically placed at approximately 2 and 5 miles going out, meaning half marathoners will pass four stations and 10K participants two. Mercy Health – Toledo will also be on site to provide medical support. With typical race day conditions seeing highs around 87°F and lows around 65°F, along with a 13% chance of precipitation, it is advisable for participants to consider carrying personal hydration and fuel.

Known for its welcoming atmosphere and organization, this race is capped at 175 participants and has a history of selling out in advance. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and a special item, and overall, masters (40-49), and grand masters (50+) winners in both races are awarded gift certificates. The Towpath Trail 10K and Half Marathon promises a delightful blend of natural beauty, historic exploration, and a friendly, supportive racing environment.
