Trail Blazer 15K and 5K

Lace up your shoes for the exhilarating Trail Blazer 15K and 5K, set to take place on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in the scenic Meadville, Pennsylvania. This event offers both a 15K run and a 5K run/walk, making it perfect for runners of all levels. The course is renowned for being flat and fast, ideal for those aiming for a personal best. It primarily follows the paved sections of the picturesque Ernst Trail, with a short segment on Mercer Pike Road, starting and finishing at Ernst Conservation Seeds.

The Ernst Trail, a converted rail line, winds through the lush bottomlands of the French Creek valley, offering runners a delightful journey through diverse natural environments including meadows, marshes, hardwood stands, and hemlock thickets. This scenic backdrop provides a refreshing experience for participants. Aid stations with water will be available on the course at the 5K and 15K turnarounds, and runners can look forward to water and snacks at the finish line. Packet pickup begins at 6:00 AM on race day at Ernst Conservation Seeds, with the 15K starting at 7:30 AM and the 5K at 7:35 AM.

This annual event is more than just a race; it benefits the Tom McNally Trail Maintenance Fund, supporting the preservation of the beautiful Ernst Trail. With typical race day conditions in Meadville featuring highs around 81°F and lows around 62°F, and only an 18% chance of precipitation, the weather often provides a comfortable setting for a summer run. Top three male and female finishers in both distances, as well as first-place age group winners, will be recognized in an awards ceremony.
